Nasser would be my pick to take the job on but I can see it Being a big ask to get him to take the job on.  Along with Duncan Fletcher he was fundamental in turning around the shambles of the 90s and which later captains and coaches rode on the coat tails of.  Sadly that complacency has got us where we are now

Far too soon, surely.

Even following the protocols of the ECB/sky "jobs for the boys" fast-track schemes, they normally put someone on comms for a few years to practice their empty platitudes and management speak before putting them in positions of authority that they simply don't have any kind of aptitude or experience for whatsoever.

Alistair Cook seems like a nice enough guy and was obviously a class bat, but he was a terrible captain with below average levels of tactical and strategic insight and a very poor man motivator. Absolutely everything about him screams "I would make a terrible senior administrator". However, he is from "the right kind of family".

So in summary, yes, I think your 5er was well spent.

Colly is a great shout. Not sure he's the 'right sort of chap' for the ECB though

There’s no way the ECB would want a strongly opinionated, strong minded, pro county cricket Surrey man at the helm.

Best wishes to his family and genuinely hope that they win their fight against this terrible illness!  :(

Ali is going to work on his farm and play a bit for Essex. Very unlikely to get the gig.

My money is on Gus Fraser or Tom Moody.

I would rather we have the Aussie personally.

Obviously Stewart is the outstanding current candidate, but I want him to stay at Surrey!

Collingwood would be good too in my view, but probably wants to go into coaching.

He's from Durham for a start - far too northern.

If ECB appointed Kevin P

Well we know they won't ever but if they did

I think the game would explode in UK

He would bring in a lot excitement to the game as well as the interviews would be insane

They could go for Charlotte Edwards, but that won't happen.
