Absolutely the right call. As good as he had been (the best in my opinion over the last 10 - 15 years) in ODIs, he had retired and they had to look elsewhere. What would it have said to others who'd worked hard to make the squad/team? Who knows if he'd have won them any games either, impossible to say.

If South Africa had won their first three games I doubt this "story" would have seen the light of day...

Wasn't his retirement more to do with the quota system and the last WC semi's - and players not picked on merit

Think also being forced to keep wicket didn't help

Heavyweight contest today 5 time champions Australia vs 2 time champions West Indies.

Oshane Thomas fast and hostile gets Finch early. 15-1

Windies dropped Darren Bravo for Evin Lewis

Khawaja got peppered with the short ball and set up by Russell. Can see Khawaja being dropped for marsh

When the going gets tough, Khawaja is usually headed in the opposite direction. Not surpised about Maxwell, it looks great when it comes off, got to accept when it doesn't. Will be interesting to see if Australia can scrape to 150-200, I feel it could be game on if they do.
