I think the Aussies (coming off away series wins against india and Pakistan, without, arguably, their two best players) probably deserve a bit more credit than that. Plus wins against England and the Windies in the warm ups probably put them with the top 3 or 4 teams on form alone.

And if we are still acting like children and calling people cheats, I recently read a very interesting article about Monty Panesar and some things he admitted in his new book.

Unfortunately for SA it was always going to be a rough time without AB. Steyn is injured more than he isnt these days, Amla is a shadow of his former self and KG and Faf can't win it on their own. DeKock is a player but there is two much of a gap between his best and his worst, whether or not the quota system is to blame is a mystery but tough times ahead for the Saffas in all forms of the game.

I based my assessment on the top 3 teams of the last 12 months results and maybe given there result in India Aus maybe should be in the top 3 alongside England and India.

Sorry but personally I don’t think its acting like a child they cheated, tried to cover it up and then cried in front of the cameras when they got caught and played the sympathy vote. To me that’s what kids do. Iv Monty has done something or someone else than they are in the same boat in my opinion. As i say though thats just my opinion on it, there has been enough threads about those Aussies concerned in the past.

Yea SA seem to be on the decline and don’t seem to have the players coming through at the moment to halt that decline, still got an outside chance to make the semi’s but will have to beat at least one of Aus or India and win all the others

South Africa are on a downward spiral where they could end up like Zimbabwe. They’ve lost around 15-20 players to Kolpaks in recent times so they literally have no depth. The last of their world class players eg Amla, Steyn and Tahir will be gone within a few weeks/months.

They’ll be left with Markram, de Kock and Rabada then a big gap to the rest.

Wouldn't read to much into the Aussie   Morgan and Root less Win against England or the win against a poor Pakistan  if you admit  to cheating  you are a cheat it's not  wrong or childish to say it

scrappy from England so far, not bowling particularly well,
archer mustn't expect to bounce them out, his best two balls have been back of a length and seaming, one in one out, that is much more threatening

Don't think we've bowled all that badly to be fair, both bowlers have taken the edges that went to second slip most games in the series last month, just they've gone wide and Fakhar is on one today. Amazing the change in ODI tactics these days that when you win the toss on what looks a road at the best batting ground in the world you instantly decide to have a bowl!

i personally think our good balls have been unlucky but weve been too wide and allowed them to flash hard, not what we did in the preceding series or vs SA

Even if Pakistan hit 400 here I wouldn't write us off, bowling first a good tactic I think. Despite being bold

I actually think this is a really good test for us..... give us a bit of a wake up early in the tournament after thrashing Pakistan in the ODI series.

Sounds (i am listening to TMS at work) like we have been dreadful in the field as well, which is very unlike us.

Woakes bowling pies and getting spanked

Different story in my view chasing 350+ in a WC game. Totally different pressure

3 wickets down and with how we seem to be bowling/fielding, Pakistan will surely get 12 an over easily from here!
Can't see us chasing 380+ but we need a wake up call.
I suspect that after what WI did to Pakistan, and how we trashed them in earlier matches, we have taken this far too casually!!
Serve England if we ae on auto-pilot! Will be interesting to see how we bat chasing a HUGE total!!

If I were a betting man, I would put money on England losing by 130 runs!!
