Yep maybe he should bat there against the likes of Starc and Bumrah when there's scoreboard pressure.

Woakes could sort Brexit, Mr England !

Good win by England.

Question for the group.  Is having Gayle and Russell in WI team hurting.  Personal opinion is that they are hurting the team.  Gayle cannot run for the singles and doubles, which forces the batter at other end in trying to hit out.  Russell, has yet to bowl is full quota and he has not lit up the WC with his batting.  Also, having him in the team screws up the balance, with Holder, Braithwait (sp) and Russell competing for the same two spots.  WI also need a batsmen who can play long innings.  Today's gave Hope was the only one who could do that but he had a horrible game.  I do not understand WI logic in alternating Lewis and Bravo in the team.  Hope should open with Gayle, Pooran at 3, Bravo @ 4, Hetmeyer @ 5 replace Russell in the squad with Dwayne Bravo  :D
Although Gayle  ran singles thought the batters changed there game specially Hope  on that track couldn't see what Braithwaite with his medium pacers brought to the team that said all the WI  bowlers were poor.

West Indies issue is that they are selecting players woefully out of form or injured.

Evin Lewis has been injured for a long time and looks totally out of form. Windies shouldn’t have selected him. They’d probably have been better off selecting John Campbell or Sunil Ambris.

There’s no logical reasoning for Carlos Brathwaite being in playing XI, aside from the reason that Andre Russell isn’t fit so they are picking Brathwaite as the backup for Russell. Which isn’t logical.

Gayle is never going to be Usain Bolt between the wickets but generally he’s capable of catching up with his power hitting.

Windies made a big song and dance about Darren Bravo’s return, he’s one of their best players of spin and manipulating the bowling. He should be in the XI.

Sri Lanka fading towards defeat. 209-5 and Australia once again heavily reliant on Starc and Cummins.

Australia can beat the lesser sides without a spinner and all rounder but for bigger teams Maxwell won't be getting the job done.
