I hope SA do something about keeping their players interested in playing for SA and not take the Kolpak route.  They no longer have any bench strength left.

Roy has been ruled out of tomorrow's game against Australia.

Will we see Vince get another go?
Could we see a reshuffle with Moeen opening and either Dawson or Curran bought in down the order?
How do you get Plunkett in the side? His wicket taking ability in the middle overs is something we need.

Moeen vs Starc/Cummins would be slaughter. If Vince is dropped, the replace has to be good against fast bowling

I think that  it has to be a squad member so  Vince is favourite to play. England have  2 of the tournament  fastest and highest wicket takers at No 1 and 3 in Archer and Wood who are opening and death over bowlers so forum favourite Woakes  should miss out to allow Plunkett to bowl in the middle

If Moeen opens he needs to give himself a chance and resist hooking Starc

Just open with root and woakes at 3.
Simples.
play extra seemed but still hVe Rashid and Ali for spin.

Left field but had we took Willey instead of Vince......... he’d have made a better back up opener than Vince has and can still add a little left arm difference....

You mean the bloke who opens in white ball cricket for Yorkshire? No way England would select him to open!

That could have been interesting, a left hand/right hand opening pair and something a bit different to add to the bowling attack.

The more I look at the more I just conclude that Hales is an absolute muppet.

Kinda terrified about tomorrow; completely different Australia team to the one we faced last summer

Morgen
Butler

From what I've seen of the Lords pitch there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to play two spinners, but they'll inevitably choose Moeen

I reckon Mo, Rash and Plunk have the chance to score more than Vince. It’s the World Cup, not a 3xi development game!
