Losing Roy is a blow but  England beating the Aussies no if England get the team right if  fit  Plunkett needs to play as  woakes  5  wickets  in the tournament at  around 50 runs each not good enough.

England should drop Moeen Ali...he clearly cannot be relied upon as a batsman in pressure situations.

England. Should have stuck with denley as a decent back up opener, can bowl part time but more importantly whilst not as dynamic as Roy or as classy looking for 25 as Vince is a consistent run scorer over a long period of time.

Now i am not saying he is the best option if Roy not fit but as he was in the squads prior to the World Cup and Hales has been a total idiot now looks silly that he was left out.

Unfortunately Mo will play again today and i cant see if he is required he will have any backbone with the bat as handy as he can be with the ball at times. And Vince will play and open with Root at 3. Its a joke if Woakes is batting at 3 for England

Minus more than ‘handy with the ball at times’, he invariably bowls 10 overs.

His batting is a bonus really.

Some sympathy with the 'Drop Moeen, he's no good with the bat under pressure' argument, but not when it's coupled with replacing him with Liam Plunkett 😂

We’ve bowled too short on a pitch offering a little bit when you get them driving. Archer doesn’t look anything near fully fit

we've bowled too short in places but overall i think Australia have been quite lucky to survive, lots of plays and misses, vince almost took a worldie, a few balls missing the stumps by a few mm.

England are only a few wickets away from being on top again,

Morgs needs to slow the game down a little keep his bowlers calm and aim for top of off, let the pitch do the work

On the balcony Englands bowling coach looks unimpressed due to  Woakes  wasting the new ball by bowling  to short on a bowler freindly which has  allowed Warner and Finch to settle in.
Also Joffra  doesn't look his best.

All games at Lord's need a time quota enforcing for time spent by commentators talking about the bloody slope.

did any other england bowl short or just woakes?

from what ive seen Woakes has also beat the edge a few times, had a LBW decision turned down with umpires call and narrowly missed otu on bowling both warner and finch,

and has looked the best of englands attack has he pitched the ball up more?

Much prefer it when ODIs are played on bigger outfields such as Lords and Southampton. You get to see more skill than when it’s raining boundaries

Good old England.

Win toss. Choose to bowl. Despite failing to chase twice against lesser sides..... and it looks like we could be chasing 350-400 here.

We gonna have to bat well to win this.

we are indeed by the looks of it, we cant seem to restrict the run scoring

The match on Sunday v India is looking more and more important

the Aussies are a very good one day side indeed
