Because that pitch looked  difficult to bat on first up England's  opening bowlers wasted the new ball /made batting look easy by bowling back of a length your always gonna be up against it when you don't take a wicket  and the opposition score 120 plus off the Fiirst 20 overs

Its unbelievable how Finch has turned things around...not long ago he was struggling to get any runs at all and his place in the Aus XI was under question. Now he just seems to be scoring runs for fun! Things have come together nicely for the Aussies at the right time.

To be fair they do most of the time. The Aussies certainly know a thing or two about momentum and turning up in tournaments.

I understand the benefits of keeping a team consistent, nobody plays well if they think that 1 mistake and they'll be dropped - but I'll be annoyed if there aren't changes for the next match, we have so much talent in the wings

This "talent in the wings" is Plunkett, Curran, Dawson or an injured Roy though.
While changes are almost certain is there anyone there who will turn the teams fortunes?
Plunkett can take wickets in the middle overs which is a blessing.
While they're both talented players, Curran and Dawson haven't played any cricket in weeks, so are unlikely to hit the ground running in a couple of crunch games :(

Valid point but I wouldn't say Moeen is offering more than what Plunkett would at the moment. Can they only select from the world cup squad now or can others still be called into it?

Others can only be called up to replace people in the squad who have to withdraw through injury.

Interesting now to see whether everyone including the players keep supporting the English style of batting that has worked so well for them. I can see them going into their shells now that the pressure to stay in the comp is on. This is the true test of attacking cricket that can sometimes fail.

I actually lower my bat nowadays to the stumps level, it has worked for me so far. :)

Look forward to the complaints from the same people calling for Moeen's head about England's bowling attack being all right arm medium pace if he does get dropped!

England's success has been heavily based on flying starts with the bat - that's what's gone missing badly in the past two games. Jason Roy is the best in the world at that, we've missed him badly - Vince is a terrible replacement for Roy, and Bairstow is an average player when not on one of his hot streaks. Billings would have been a decent Roy replacement, Moeen is probably the best we have available now unless Morgan decides he fancies opening!

One wicket every 43 balls. 306÷7.
Poor use of stats also doesn't win world cups.
