My comment stands. They are a b grade side. One lucky day out doesn't change anything

Lucky? Did you watch it.  They were excellent today.

For a "b grade side" they did themselves proud.

Would try stubhub, fair few going at less than face value

I suspect there will be a few tickets available for the final now!

As much as I enjoyed NZ winning, I think people are being unfair to Dhoni. He wanted to take the game till the end and backed himself to smash 15 an over in the last two. Were it not for guptills insane runout, msd might have pulled it off.

It was Jadeja playing out of his skin that took the game deep, and who might have taken it deeper if he wasn't playing catch up for Dhoni. Sure MS could have won it with an over or two of high risk cricket, but had he played smart cricket and turned the strike over, he and Jadeja would have been needing 5 or 6 an over instead of 12+ towards the end

Was a good game. India haven’t been that impressive this tournament.

Kohli wasn’t a world beater.
Rahul didn’t show up.
Pant got chucked in deep end despite not being in original squad.
jadeja should have played every game.
Dhoni shouldn’t have been near the side. Probably cost them games.

Bumrah and rohit were excellent though.
But two guys can’t win a world cup.

Well played NZ though.

No one gave NZ a chance coming into the semi's. What a win to send them through to the semi's, their bowling in the first 15 was suburb.

Guptill saving his best for the final now

Guptils been shocking.

Just tell Munro to tee off from ball one and at worst you’d have the same start.

Your point is absolutely valid.

Dhoni these days is not as destructive, he was letting hittable balls go by in this innings. he takes the game really deep like a high stakes gambler.

with 2 bowlers behind jadeja the question will be why didn't he go earlier when jadeja was pumping it into the stands and nearly won the game.

So.....its a judgement call. Knowing Indian fans as I do(my best mate is Indian and we just talk or watch cricket) they will think he got it wrong and is now too old..

personally im not sure NZ are getting enough cresdit, they are a tough side to beat with decent bowlers

I wonder now comments about Taylors batting(slowly) yesterday are being shown to be stupid. He read the pitch and though 240/ 250 good enough on that wicket.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. He still batted poorly.

NZ are also very lucky! Somehow stars aligned for them to have the chances and conditions that favored them but I guess, that's cricket. :)

Why wait until the last two overs?  If he had rotated the strike better India would not have to rely on the smashing in the last two overs.  I am not blaming him for the loss, but personally India needed to be taken down a notch or two.  They are way to cocky and dependent on top 3 to bail them out.

Conditions do play a part especially in England. Leading up to the semi final they didn’t play well and you could well say Pakistan were a better bet.
I see what you mean if you are referring to that but not sure they are particularly lucky.
Over the years NZ have been more than the sum of their parts if you get what I mean.

You gotta respect the game... wonder how much it hurt India not going tooth and nail for a win vs England- giving up relatively early meant that their Lower middle order was never really tested... had they fought till the end vs Eng, they might have emerged tougher and better able to handle today’s pressure.

My Personal opinion on today's game...NZ came in this tournament with great luck. Last match with India got rained off, we could argue NZ could have won that or maybe India but we will never know. That one point saved NZ a place in semis. Pakistan could have got few more points if their matches were not rained off and made it to semis even with their current points.
Yesterday NZ was under pressure and rain saved them again. This morning they started taking single double shifting the momentum. In this weather NZ had perfect conditions to bowl at India that they did. India batting in afternoon would have been different story.

Now I am backing NZ to lift the cup as they got nothing to lose.

What I meant by my comment is that the change in weather, a break from the game, and continuation the next day gave NZ a second chance to re-asses the game and execute better. For a side to chase (in a WC playoffs) is tough. But, it becomes tougher when all your mental preparation and focus is put to rest (since you are batting the following day rain or shine) and then re-start again the next day, re-focus, get your emotional/adrenaline pitch right and ready.
