Can't see the issue with him given a chance to open with Burns  and Denly at 3, then Root bats 4. Solves a few problems if he comes off for a while and Denly deserves another shot.

I think as well Sibley will tour and Pope. Denly proved more than a stop gap and batting 3 with Root back to 4

I don’t think Root will bat 3, he clearly does not want to.

To make space for Sibley England may have to leave Roy and Bairstow at home.

Only a mad person would say Sibley does not warrant a selection
