I am also a little dubious about his technique in English conditions against decent pace!
Burns has proved he can bat in English conditions for the last 5 seasons, so I hope he gets a very decent run.
Jennings does deserve a run but he looks better in spin conditions than on greener wickets? I'm sure Denly will be watching patiently

Smith is certainly not afraid to go against the norm, there are going to be some selections that just don't work as he seems unafraid to take a risk.

Without wishing to sound old(and old fashioned) against class pace bowling you need technique because you cannot slap guys who are quality bowlers. Starc,Cummins,Hazlewood...these are good bowlers.

Roy does not have the defence to stay in long enough.Could he do a job at number 5 or 6? That's a different question.

But we already have a middle order bursting  at the seams. we couldn't possibly get anyone else in....
