Its a good bat, it is soft though. I was told it didnt need much knocking in but i did anyway, ive scored about 200 runs with it and i still get seam marks. Maybe its an unusual bit of wood or maybe its related to being a light cleft.

Pick up is great, well balanced. I like the forward set thick handle. Excellent middle.

Returned home today from skiing and found my two babies waiting for me. My god are these good.

Totally blown away by the quality of these two, weight is 2.95 on the nose for each of them gripped scuffed etc. Handles are perfect for me (I'm fussy with handles as both rich and @Biggie Smalls can attest to. Pressing is spot on. Both sound a tad firmer than I'm used to but the rebound is just as good if not better at this stage than any bat I've had. Pick up is dreamy and there's no way one of these won't be my. Match bat very soon. Thanks again to Rich and the guys at B3. Return customer for sure here.

I am also amazed the 2 stripe is not a higher grade. 8 clean grains, pretty much straight. Super light cleft. Only thing I see wrong is 2 tiny pin knots that have no effect on performance. Oh well, definitely my gain!!

Lucky man!

What were the changes you made to the standard B3 Root shape in the end? A bit more thickness on the shoulders to keep a more consistent thickness throughout the length of the edge profile, more like his monster GM bats?

Essentially yeah. I wanted a replica root that held its size all the way through the bat rather than coming up to a 'swell' and then duck billing down. These are carbon copies of roots shape, rather than making slight changes to attain manageable weights regularly. Don't get me wrong, the B3 interpretation is very similar to the original, but there are definitely small changes.

These are, I believe, carbon blue stickers

Cheers, that's what I thought :) Definitely great if you can find the right cleft(s!) but I'm not sure I could handle a B3 Root that no doubt picks up eeeeven better than there standard shape- way too wand like as they are :D

Love the stickers too. I thought they were black and my eyes were going funny!

Stickers are very good, they were Rich's personal reccomendation.

Haha it is very wand like. I love it though, genuinely (based on 1st impressions) would be happy to use this shape for the rest of my cricketing career

Very nice mate . Those shoulders look gigantic btw.
I'm impressed by the shape and they seem like your kind of shape too.....even the handles have that horrible , peculiar squareness you love so much (and yes, I've witnessed @LEACHY48 and his handle fussiness ....would be a bat makers worst nightmare !).
Hopefully you've found your goldilocks 'just right' bats for the 2nd half of the season now.
I'm going to have a hit with these the next time we have a net .....but don't worry , I'll lend you one of my c.a's you love so much 🤣

They are the dogs danglies. 27mm shoulders, 30mm toe 44mm edges just generally enormous. Can't get an accurate spine measurement but I think it's circa 68mm

Leachy, happy you like them mate. Certainly 2 stunning sticks. Another couple of hours knocking in and then gradually work up to harder balls. Should do the biz with these 😉
