More games have been added. I think cricket Australia have tried to cash in on its previous success by putting more games on, not sure if it has worked though.

I wonder what the comparison is between the BBL, IPL and Blast in terms of length of competition

Big Bash 2017/18: 19th December -> 4th February = 48 days
IPL 2018: 7th April -> 27th May = 51 days
Vitality Blast 2018 (Group games to quarter finals*): 4th July ->  27th August = 55 days
Big Bash 2018/19: 19th December -> 17th February = 61 days

*I have only included fixtures up to Quarter Finals as there was a 19 day gap between that and Finals Day (15th September)

That's nothing, the premier league has been going since August and still has 4 months to go.

Maybe someone should tell them there's such a thing as too much of a good thing and they'd be better off knocking our on the head in September.

Premier League - 20 teams
IPl - 8 teams

🤔

Not to mention:
FA Cup
League Cup
Champions League
Europa League
International games

The season has to be that long to fit it all in.

So what you're saying is that the ipl is about 12 teams short.
