Favourite Retro shapes (excluding the funky ones)
« on: December 23, 2018, 08:05:58 PM »

I was thinking the other day about my favourite batshapes of years gone by, forgetting things like Scoops and V12s etc.

I think in order of preference they are:

Newbery B52
That really high-spined Millichamp one
DF Magnum
Choice Churchillian
Malik Sher

Ah yes the distinction- I came across one on eBay a few months ago (the original low and high were also nice profiles)

County Reflex
(Although I am not sure if that counts in the funky shape category!)

Loved the Reflex, and the SS Turbo when I was really young. Imagine the Purist is going to crop up a lot in this thread, great shape. Gold Crown for me probably just wins it though.

First SH bat I had was a reflex, was dead four inches up from the toe! Digging out Yorkers gave you vibration white finger 😂😂😂

Wasn’t a patch on my Harrow GN Ultimate

BAS Vampire Blaster circa 2000. Still most forgiving shape I've ever used.

I used to have one too.
It was dead across the whole bat...!
I still love the shape. It was the only county I have had that wasn't magnificent.

Original G.m diamond (or is that too funky?)
