Max holden looks pretty promising,
Harry Brooks is also class

Hameed has been dropped by lancs I heard so he seems to have completely forgotten how to bat!

Get that Hameed to another county (and away from his coaches / father!) and let him start again.

He’s too good to ignore, he’s a test quality player for goodness sake!

Rhodes
Brook
Holden
Clarke
Pope
S Curran
Fisher
Brookes
Virdi
Mahmood (or Pennington)

I have no idea why people are picking someone in a county second team as their great new hope...

Having said that I think Hameed should follow Che Pujara's approach. Reinvent himself as a number three.
Given his technique is pretty solid the suggestion he moves county is a good one. He is clearly going backwards where he is.

Interesting isn't it?

I guess the fact that we've all seen him make runs in a range of styles in tough Test conditions blinds us to the horrible mess his technique has become since?

The question is - why did he change anything?

He broke his finger and got told his hands were too low.

But has anyone see Che bat recently...

Just get better gloves. (Sorry GN lovers!)

Who told him his hands were too low?

Don't forget Dan Lawrence at Essex and Jack Burnham, who is back from a drugs ban this season.

Jofra Archer is 23...

I reckon the best bit about the next generation of potential England players is that there's a good few top 3/4 bats around who've had domestic success over the past season or two - Rhodes, Sibley, Duckett, Brook, Clarke, Livingstone, Bracey, Holden, I'm sure there's more I'm missing. Given that's where the test side has tended to be short, there's bound to be opportunities for some of them over the next couple of years.

Strange how I associate Archer with the test squad already...
