Training/coaching for t20
« on: January 17, 2019, 10:20:44 AM »

My club over here have t20 rounds this weekend, so obviously we had a focus on t20 skills at training. What I asked people to focus on were the following:

Batting- what are your release shots to rotate strike? What are your main boundary options (and how can you use the crease to create these options)?

Bowling- getting variants sorted, mixing it up and being confident to bowl variants in the middle.

Fielding- intensity, plenty of volume, all working together to keep runs down.

What I worked on was a few paddles/scoops vs the bowlers, then my release shot (dropping the ball into the off side) and calling/setting off vs bowling machine. 90% of the deliveries I bowled were wronguns or top spinners to make sure I will execute correctly. Fielding we can't train at our nets, but when shots came out the nets we would pick up and throw over the stumps to the bowler to have a little bit of practice.

What else would people suggest as ideas for t20 coaching/training?

In here I am mentioned as the one to watch for Lincoln South by the guy who runs Ace, so no pressure there!
