He’ll accept an offer of 140. Number 2 left. I went for £135 and he hasn’t respond!

How to offer him? What's his ebay ID?

depends on perspective totally, and it was a gamble, but look at others in that price range on ebay and for £170 posted it is a decent deal, here are some similar 'pro' and expensive bats and looking at these i feel i have got a good deal -

Ben Stokes NB - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tim-Keeley-Cricket-Bat-12-Piece-Cane-Handle-Pro/233038565700?hash=item36422e5144:g:ysIAAOSwxPpcC~tB:rk:2:pf:1&frcectupt=true

an actual TK - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tim-Keeley-Cricket-Bat/223421267911?hash=item3404f1ffc7:g:OLAAAOSwpZNcaq~f:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true

M&H - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Millichamp-and-Hall-CK22-cricket-bat-SH-2-8/153226098269?hash=item23acfcb65d:g:R9AAAOSwOIlby3FV:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true

Kippax 1 - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2018-Wavex-Kippax-Colossus-Cricket-Bat-only-used-once-excellent-condition-SH/173733016629?hash=item28734b7435:g:VU0AAOSwl7dcNzoD:rk:2:pf:1&frcectupt=true

Kippax 2 - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kippax-Colossus-Sh-Bat-Just-Been-Refurbished-By-Kippax/192820792906?hash=item2ce503ce4a:g:otQAAOSwXHpcX-mQ:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true

the only difference is the claim that they have been 'serviced' - most are more expensive and just as big a gamble - but without the potential chance that they might be the best wood i am ever going to get my hands on - and if it is not for me - still has some resell value as it can be sold as a 'top grade Tim Keeley bat' in the future

the one i got took me 30 mins to sand and fix a little knock, can use it in nets straight away - i personally am not good with new bats, the last time i got a new one was 2005 and that was a present - i think it took 3 seasons for me to feel 'right' playing a league game with it - against the league 'brick' balls i faced - totally psychological but i ended up using the bat about 50 times over 5 years or only in games where the balls were good quality readers/dukes - and then selling it before i moved abroad for work for about 25% of the cost of what the person who brought it for me paid for it - i still feel guilty just thinking about that!!!

Grade 3/4s (old gradings of bats - not the performance crap) are being sold by retailers for £200 - £160 would be a bargain in those terms.

Crazy bat prices now

Ridiculous - or aimed at the private school brigade! Almost feel like removing my distinction from eBay, saving it for 5 years and it'll be 2k  :D

Anyway back to the post if only the bats had slug written on the toe with a sharpie

Although I can see what you mean, highlighting overpriced bats doesn't mean these stack up for me, just that these bats are overpriced too. One of those Kippax bats is listed as 2018 when it's clearly older. I just don't think the 'Pro' bats are necessarily any better than what you can get elsewhere. If anyone had picked up one of Ali Cooks 'pro' bats, you'd be buying an OTS Gray Nics as apparently he just picked them out of the rack at the factory. No doubt it would be great to have one of his old bats, but the quality would be the same as any other Gray Nics, with any improvement in 'ping' being purely psychological in my opinion.

That said that look decent and as long as the buyer is happy and think they're value, then that's all that matters. Hope they go well for you guys!  :D

Think £160 for these bats is definitely good value.
Bargain for me is that I bought a top range bat for £140, while it's RRP is £425, brand new

Not trying to get off topic but that Keeley bat I sold to him for 120 on eBay. Also it wasn’t a custom from him, it wasn’t even a custom bat for me!

Pretty much why I have never bought a bat off eBay. Rather buy a bat from a forum member here.
