I am go to our local mall pm today and will make a note of what all the V numbers IE v200 for example refer to.

V12 - the one with the hump.
V1200 - a slightly later version of the one with the hump, where the hump was elongated.
V100, V200, V500 and V600 - all variations on the more traditional shape. V500 had the best shape of these in my view.
V800 - initially made with two small scoops out of the back looking like cats eyes. GN had a hissy fit because they'd patented Scoops and Slaz had to change it to some nicks out of the side.
V99.9 - a special Bradman edition in a traditional shape.

A lot of slazenger bats of recent vintage don't seem to say whether they are English or Kashmir willow - are all of them just English? I know that the Panthers are Kashmir.

It's a real shame to see the degradation of the Slazenger brand under Sports Direct. When you think of some of the players who used their kit in the past, it is sad to see how quickly they fell

It is actually a complete and utter disgrace, and incredibly short sighted really. Not long since they had the likes of Richards, Botham, Bell, Bradman, Clarke, Collingwood et al. Steve Smith started with Slaz right? Still gets his bats made at the same place too (Sondhi right?). When you think of the most visible representation of British gentlemanly class and luxury goods these days you probably think of Bond, and even James Bond wore a Slazenger sweater when golfing - can you imagine that happening now? That level of endorsement and history you would think would be considered a valuable asset and protected vociferously, but instead they've completely diluted and destroyed it in only a few years - incredible.

Unfortunately that is the SD model - find a brand that is down on its luck, buy it cheap, stick the logo on crap, tell everyone it should be expensive but they can have it cheap.

It�s exactly the same for Karrimor, Lonsdale, Everlast, No Fear and they had Umbro rights for a while.

Does anyone know where the Slazenger stuff is made at the moment?

Who knows with regards to clothing etc, but their proper cricket stuff is still made at FC Sondhi I believe, essentially making it the same as NB and a few others. Happy to be corrected.

Don't they also have Airwalk now as well, they were massive in the late 90s when skateboarding and surfing took off.

With all those brands, there is still some good wares to be had, but unfortunately you have to wade through the crap first.

The current year V12 Limited Edition bat has a sticker that says it is made in England.

Pacific Brands own the rights in Aus and New Zealand with full and exclusive rights to sell in these countries in 2011 they sub licensed to Spartan Sports.

Used to love the Slazenger bats of the late 80's / early 90's. My mates brother had a monster of a V12 and it was an absolute weapon!! I remember the V800 with the two scoops out as well. Handled very well. Also the wicket keeping gear was top notch. Same to see the decline over the years!

Agreed. Hopefully one day they'll sell the brand to enthusiasts who'll revive it.
