It's a retro thing then? Not knocking it - love a bit of retro myself. Just getting my head around this.

I'm sure I could use one with no real issues, but jeez shoulderless bats look ugly in my eyes, can't really put my finger on why either.

I find the look a bit thugish sometimes, and other times retro in an elegant way
The size of that bat it’s definitely brutish,,,
Being honest, I’ve always wanted one,,,i even went into ijc to buy one,,,but ended up buying a mjoliner
Horses for courses and all that

And not retro no,,,it’s a way of losing an ounce or so, from a part of the bat that doesn’t really need it

I’ve just watched Petes video from Sunday, and I’m in the  other net, with the bowling machine, 34seconds in, shows the difference in bat speed using Brucies bat which he kindly let me use

I have a 2-13.4 Amplus that I want to bring down to 2-11. Where else do you think I can take the weight off? I'd happy with the balance point moving down to mid/mid-low on that bat.

I’m gonna have a go at removing 3 ounce off this bat, (someone wants it at that weight) so I’ll post pics as I go, then you can see the differences it makes
Is that ok? Mr Internal?

I had the shoulders dropped on my Trott so it’s now more like a Root SB longer handle! Great way to save weight on a bat!

I love this. Right up my street.

I had a search through the NM batmaking thread you linked but I couldn't see any dimensions/weight etc unless Im being a bit dense (very possible).

Can I tempt you to reveal the particulars? pretty please?

@Kez pics or it didn't happen  :) Did you do this yourself or take it to someone?

I shall get to it at the weekend, I’m aware of the forum rules.
It was taken to Garrard & Flack. Did a great job

Just curious, why are shoulderless bats not used by any of the Pros? Is there a rule that prevents from doing it? Or would they be at a disadvantage on better pitches which offer more bounce?

Only disadvantage to the pros, is as I mentioned earlier, you can’t fit big shiny stickers on one

Exactly what I was thinking. If there was an advantage, the pros would be using them for sure
