Root/Shan triplets
« on: March 29, 2019, 01:15:12 AM »

After bugging and nagging @Butterfingerz for countless hours (Rich, your patience is truly remarkable!), I decided on the 32.2 (Shan Masood's new shape) as the shape to try. Didn't want to go with the domed profile versions a few have tried, as I wanted a light pickup, and 2mm of concaving is hardly noticeable (many dealers would call it full profile).

The shorter blade feels great, and the pickup/balance is beautiful. All three weigh exactly 2lb 8oz on the dot, and feel exactly the same.

Specs wise - they are all 1mm smaller than the "max" allowed edge/spine specs (so for example, the edges are 39mm instead of 40mm). This was done to access a wider range of clefts (they were running low on crowns), and I'm glad we did that, as the grain structure is superb on all three.

Yet another fantastic B3 purchase, and I know I said this last time (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=43519.0), but these might ACTUALLY be the last bats I buy ;)

A special thanks to Rich and Tom for being so patient and helpful.

Very nice, one of the best colour options in the B3 range those white stickers really set the bat off well. Shape wise they look really nice and chunky for the light weight. Good luck with them

They won't catch us this time! Not this time! They haven't spotted us! No, they're all snoring in their bunks! Or, you know what? They're drinking at the bar, celebrating our sinking! Not yet, my friends. Not yet!

Stunning bats! Not sure I'd want to cover them with fibreglass sheet but each to their own.

How on earth can you decide which one to use, it would be an impossible task like picking a favourite child!!!

I was about to say the same. Grains look gorgeous but fiber scuff sheet should go!

@brokenbat seems like you are also a B3 fan. How many do you have so far?

Haha - well B3 has pretty much delivered clones - no discernible difference, so won’t have to spend energy choosing one.

Perhaps even the wrong sport?
