Readers Cricket Ball
« on: April 03, 2019, 08:51:06 PM »

Dear all

I'm looking for Readers cricket ball both white and pink. I'm playing for a club in the Netherlands (www.eindhovencc.com) and looking to source these balls.

White : 30 pcs
Pink : 50 pcs

Any dealers or suppliers here? Please PM me.

Not a sponsor but I've always found this site to be of good value.

Do you not find them to be comparatively small compared to other brands though?

Haha, probably I didn't feel it small because I didn't bowl last season. But the ball is of quite high quality, lasts 50 overs easily and can play another 50 overs by the looks of it.

I've used a few Readers KNCB balls and they do last. Pricey though (via the KNCB).

Tiflex Mangas are good quality too. https://www.oxbridgeballs.co.uk/collections/mens-cricket-ball-range/hi-visibility

Would you buy 80 brand new match balls for personal use?

Last season our leagues held a test survey for a standard match ball, five clubs used 12 different match balls. The Tiflex Hampton came top, which was a surprise as it was on of the cheapest balls tested. where the Tiflex Buckingham (the most expensive tested) was second from bottom.  Readers came in the middle.

Not for personal use, this is for the club.

Our readers league balls are garbage, they can be like a dog ball after 10 overs.

I've used a tiflex ball since January last year for all indoor and outdoor netting and its still in great condition. Considering my very average paced bowling gets spanked all over i rate the tiflex balls quite highly

which ball do you use?

I always used a Readers Soverign in Scotland and they were great balls. Looks like we're switching over to Readers here this year but it's one of the (much) cheaper models.

We have also used the Readers Sovereign Special. This is a great ball, however we are forced to buy this from the organization that conducts the league and they rip you off by giving expensive rates. In case anyone is interested, Amazon it sells for 20 pounds.

Now they have switched to white ball. Does anyone know if there is Readers white sovereign special? I see only Readers County Crown White on the internet.

Seemingly we will be using a white Readers Sovereign Sprcial County this year. Which is costing us around £18 a ball but that’s including shipping and a likely hefty import duty. Do worry that we’re getting something a bit duff.

I had to cut them all in half for the league
The tiflex were lovely balls, proper 4piece balls
