Terrible decision from a Lancs perspective but an opportunity for the player to have a fresh start and get back to the level he can play at. 22 is a rediculous age to dump a player who has shown so much promise

I think Lancs have been patient.. probably the best decision all round.

Think he needs a change and reboot... hopefully, it might be what he needs and is back inf or England in a year or so!

If he doesn't then maybe he wasn't mentally cut out for the challenge fo being a consistent top player. Might be better off spending some time with a sports psychologist!

Either way, I really hope he comes back stronger!

You�re joking aren�t you? Counties are still a business and they are getting no return from him. They have been very patient with him, but it�s time to see if someone else can spark his undoubted talent.

Piles of runs for Derbys I think.

With all Hameed�s issues against seam bowling, I�m somewhat surprised he didn�t try and get a stint in India playing Ranji Trophy to regain some confidence against spin bowling where he�s very good. Hameed is supposedly good pals with Kohli, I�m sure the Indian maestro could�ve hooked him up

Hopefully he�s dropped all the ECB qualified coaches who have been telling him to expand his game etc etc
