I am sceptical as to whether the bats would pick up the same. But I would love to be proved wrong.

On the basis that every handle is different and every piece of timber is different then the pick up will almost certainly be different. But that isn't what bat mapping is for it is for matching the shape and middle position of the bat. B3 can estimate what weight of cleft will give the bat the closest weight to the original bat too.
are B3 able to copy a bat profile from photos? if so how accurate is it?
