Some great comments but Gents.....how do I slide :-)

Anyone got tips, I watched baseball players they were doing it so quick.

Looks like bend your non dominant knee side ways and extend your right foot.

Run and and bend the leg on the side you are going to slide to... and then it's the side of the bent leg... keepnother leg straight..

Helps if your running at full whack, feet or head first depends on distance on intercept and angle. Usually though with me its whatever body part can reach.
At 51y.o I still dive and slide around, it just hurts more and takes longer to get up.

I managed to slide twice and it wasn't as difficult but I did in slow motion.

Let's say it is out of the system.

Our opening bowler and best fielded tried a slide last saturday at bourneville. Landed on his shoulder and head and didnt slide. Popped a ligament that holds his collarbone down and knocked himself out.

it saved 2 runs in a game we won by 50, sometimes you have to ask yourself why do you do it to save a run or two.

His gonna be out long term.

I’m getting on a bit now, and tbh, I’m scared witless of diving, sliding etc
I dislocated my knee a few years ago sliding and that was bad enough,,but last year I started to dive around again, and banged my knee pretty bad on a rock hard outfield half way through the season,,,,,I knew I’d not dislocated it, but man o man I knew it was close

I’m only playing a very very low standard of cricket these days, and tbh, it’s not the end of the world if I let something go past.
But a week or more off work, with a sports injury would go down like a lead balloon with my bosses, not to mention my playing days are getting shorter
