Folks,
Here is my dilemma: I use a 2-11 bat and lately, I have been thinking about using a lighter 2-10 or 2-9 bat.
Have you made such a shift? If you did make a shift, was your timing affected? Did you lose or gain shots? I am predominantly a on/leg side batsman, very much in the mold of Cook. Clearing the rope is not a problem for me but to do that on the long-off or extra-cover, I need quite a lot of pace. So, why do I want to move to a lighter bat? Because I want to add more power to my off-side shots and with my 2-11, I can only play check drives or dabs. Full blooded shots in the covers are rare and square cuts/up-and-overs are mere dabs. I am thinking with a lighter bat, I'd increase my scoring options on the off side.
