So how are England going to justify picking mo over leach this time?

Vice marks saying regardless of what happens in this test leach won’t play the next game

Shades of Foakes v Sri Lanka and then dropped

You can start to see why selection is wrong

I think marks is correct, leach will give way to Mo-one spinner

England's Best batsman is now in. Curran should be batting higher

No can’t see that...Ireland will go for 180/200 like a one day match,if sterling gets in it could be over quickly

They have got a lot of spirit Ireland  and a small total will suit their style

And I’d question whether England deserve to win, Ireland have played better cricket.

Feel free to look at his stats for every other year of his career. Averaging 20s and 30s

Still doesn't answer how you fluke 1470 runs in a year. I've fluked 4's and 6's before, never tons tho. If you've scored that amount of runs, you've earned em in my book.

Still say going into the 1set test with 4 newbies from 6 top test cricket is crazy talk. Although I agree Bairstow has questions over him, he's still a top 6 pick at present for me.

I'd have like to have seen Sibley given a go in this game though.

I'd have rested Bairstow and Woakes. Root needed to play as skipper, Roy for experience. Foakes and Gregory could've done with the game.

But seemingly there are kid gloves around Bairstow, even when he's on a hiding to nothing. He's a great player. But he doesn't help himself!

Bairstow is a different player in one day cricket than tests. Yes he had a hot streak and played brilliantly for 12-18 months.

He won't give up the gloves because he thinks if he keeps them he has 2 jobs and is harder to replace. England just caved in after Sri Lanka when Foakes did so well

Your spot on we should of had a look at a new batsman, Sibey was worth a try I would have Malan....either way we need to look at someone and hope they come thru.

The problem is our batting and has been for ages. Foakes should be our keeper it's farcical - miles ahead of anyone else and a decent bat.

After Sri Lanka they should of said to bairstow you're a specialist bat now just like Butler. Live or die by runs like everyone else.

England fudged the problem and kicked the can down the road. All they did is make it harder to pick the team.

Thorpe
Hick
Ramprakash
Stewart
Lewis
Croft
Gough

Don't tell me England in the 90's were a terrible team. This team would smash our current test side out of sight. Some very over rated players in out current team!

Did you watch them play at all? Atherton a solid test opener and Thorpe a tough middle order player but the rest were average test players at best.

So anyway.....

To our Aussie friends? After Bancroft made a superb 93not out in what’s seems the only test style inning win a while.

Do we reckon he’s gonna be re u tied with his best buddy Warner to open in the ashes??
