124-3 at stumps. Smith 46* and proving to be a royal pain in the rear. Get Smith early tomorrow and we win easily.

On a tangent Joe Burns must be spitting feathers that he’s sat at home whilst Bancroft took his place.

Smith is key but not so confident as he can bat with the lower order very well
Stokes and Ali leak a few runs as well and we are a bowler down.

If they can get a overall lead of 160-180 not sure we are favourites

Mo needs to show he is capable of making an impact tommorow

It is turning.

I’d say it’s a big career day for Mo today. His batting has gone off a cliff and he should be batting beneath Broad. The wicket is great for him and he should be a real handful, not going at over 5 an over.

There’s a real chance he could bowl himself out of the side today and not into hero-status. I hope not, because I like him as a cricketer, however confidence is a b*stard and we need guys in top form to win these Ashes

And don’t get me started on Anderson!!!!!

Yeah that's a skill in itself being about to protect the lower players.

Smith whatever the crowd chant and the fans think, is top class...probably the best in the world right now.

Agree with Cat this is a big day for Mo, love the bloke but there are no runs coming and he has bowled really well when there is another spinner in the team...

We ain't got that now so we need him not to go at 5 an over and get some wickets.

Smith has scored a century and fifty in the same match 9 times.
Kohli has done this 8 times, Williamson 6 times and Root twice.

Smith has also batted fewer innings than the other 3. Staggering domination
