A test opera Roy is not.

But I’m pretty sure he’s been picked to be our warner/sehwag attacking player.
It doesn’t excuse his shot, but I’m pretty sure he wasn’t picked for his expertise in blocking out a final day.
Sehwag and Warner averaged over 50 in FC when they got selected for Test cricket. Roy isn’t in that league.

Never said you did. I was pointing out that Sehwag and Warner are two of the greatest openers of the modern era. Roy won't ever get near that standard

Just pathetic really. Yet I still read post after post bigging most of these guys up. Flat deck, chance to save a game and they can’t stop playing shots. Roy.. well.. never gonna be a test top order bat but the fact he’s there just shows where this team is.

Buttler already trying to drive and pull... save the bloody game ..  2 off 200 is better than 65 off 80

its just highlighted how rubbish moeen was.

just seen someone text into the bbc live feed this side for lords:

Sibley, Burns, Root, Stokes, Roy, Buttler, Foakes, Woakes, Archer, Broad, Leach

too be fair to the lad he isnt that far off.

its what id pick with anderson out and moeen and bairstow not playing well

but itll be this roy burns root denly buttler stokes bairstow ali woakes archer broad

unless its very flat then could we go in with no spinner? and stone plays?

The pitches are dry we wouldn’t go in without a spinner even if there is some rain before a match.

Spin wise I think Leach is a better bowler so he should play.

Anderson is going to out next game not sure if Archer is fit but you would think he plays

Foakes is the most unfortunate bloke in recent memory not to get picked

Likely bairstow will get the whole series thou, selectors don’t like too much change
