Roy shouldn’t be there but now he is, he deserves 10 tests

Root at three is a sure fire way to waste his ability

Bairstow needs kicking back to Yorkshire and only returned when he knows the difference between red ball and white ball.

Ali is mentally shot. Pull the plug for the winter and let him go back to beating on bang avg county players for confidence with bat and ball

Anderson is injured sadly


Denly to 3 as we kinda don’t care about him, short term really

Foakes in for Bairstow at 7

Archer in for Anderson



Denly deserves a run just like burns and Roy.

Sad times still for this side. Very poor

You've just got to look at the first class records for the England batting line up to see why we collapse all the time.

Roy, Denly, Buttler, Stokes and Ali all average in the 30s. Root and Burns average in the 40s. Bairstow supposedly averages 50.

Too many average players and in Bairstow's case lack of mental ability to show his true talent

Bairstows place in the test team has to be in doubt as there are better keepers out there and his use of the reviews in the test arena and the World Cup is questionable. Buttler or Foakes should keep in the lords test
