Yes I agree at the moment he is our best But Jofra never got Carey out. Just a love tap on the chin. I was referring to the nobody 2nd ix team that everyone seems to be getting excited about Jofra taking 6 wickets against.

I made no reference to glos 2s

Yeah he took 6fer but your right it is 2nd xi cricket, their still good players who were made to look ordinary,

However I'm glad hes fit and firing,

He may not have got Carey out but he did smack the lid off him

Let's face it none of the Aussies will be thrilled to face Archer

His red ball domestic record is much better than his white ball! If it translates the same way he'll be a serious bowler!

Tbf, at least three of them are pretty crap.. one I think was top order.. at the level englsnd need nothing can be taken by playing a second xi.. especially glos!! Glos 1xi is dire let alone the 2xi

Archer looks good no doubt but he's gonna need bowlers around him that keep it tight and get wickets. He won't be bowling 35 overs a day quick, he's played a lot of limited overs cricket.

Besides as has been pointed out its our batting that's the problem, we need to post 350 minimum. I don't think we can do that consistently

The lords wicket against Ireland moved all over the shop, if we get similar  the game could be a lottery, add in some village umpiring and it's a shoot out who uses DRS the best  :)

Our best chance of winning is a sporting track, gamble on 1-1 or 0-2 down.

Australia are decent, two of their bowlers left out of the 1st test cleaned up in the County game yesterday and today. Hazlewood and Stac are quality and waiting in the wings.

If it comes down to who uses DRS best then Australia are stuffed

Really hope the wicket is as spicy as the one for the Ireland test. But after the loss in the first test, it is possible that it will be as flat as possible.

How much pressure must Archer be under!, it seems England's hopes have been entirely pinned on the young lad. I hope he at least has realistic expectations of himself and doesn't take it too hard if things don't go according to plan.

I can't see what difference a green seamer will make though. Both batting lineups look shaky, although England would be more concerned with theirs, and both sides have the bowling to exploit those conditions but Australia have the better spinner.

If it's flat at least it won't be over in 3 days, and after Joe Roots criticism of the pitch that was prepared for the Ireland test Id say the groundsman will prepare something pretty batsman friendly.

I don't think Jofra is under any pressure at all. He comes in, bowls a bit, bats a bit, fields a bit and has a fun time.
The batters, however, they need to feel the pressure.

If bairstow doesn’t get some in this test I reckon he should be dropped for the series, we all know he’ll be back at some point with a point to prove

I think bairstow is lucky to be in this squad even if the chances of him being replaced by Foakes are..or were..nil.

Roy and Burns, whether people think they are good enough or not must be given a chance, they need games under their belts and no one is banging down the door to be picked.

I just wonder if for England, if they wanted too, pick Curran in the side as well as a spinner, could continue to pick two keepers batting as low down as they do.

You wonder if they might have too choose one in the long term
