At one point on TMS during the Ireland test a couple of commentators (I forget who) were actually discussing on air whether they should write an anti-Bairstow piece to make sure he got runs in the Ashes haha.

Australia have ‘rested’ Pattinson for Lords. Hazlewood or Starc will replace him

Yep always on the cards this with two quality bowlers on the sidelines, if the wicket is similar to the Ireland game I actually think Hazlewood would be a better selection-he can just move it enough from a good length.

Also on the cards was today’s news ‘Moeen takes a break from cricket’

One of the most likeable players but clearly out of form and low on confidence.

It may be a hard road back without his batting to fall back on. He may come again but I’m still of the view with so many allrounders in the side we play the best specialist spinner and keeper.

Sympathy for Ali thou, it’s a tough game when confidence leaves you in club cricket let alone top level.

Toss at 3pm be great to win and have a bowl and aim to get 3/4 wickets by the end of the day if indeed the rain holds off that long
