I was just getting ready to write if Marnus would be able to pull a Smith with the tail but he just got out.

We know Smith is going to be back next game and the way Marnus is playing I do not see Aus dropping him for the next game, which means either Head or Wade are going to miss out, unless they decide to drop Paine and make Wade the keeper.  I hope that does not happen, since IMHO Paine is a better keeper.

Surely you would drop Kawaja and put Marnus in at 3, seems like the more logical decision to me??

There's a lot of mania about Archer this week, and I hope he does really well- he's certainly very exciting.

However, I'm very uncomfortable about all this 'he's going to win us the Ashes' and 'he's the difference between the sides' stuff in the media and from the England camp. It's still early days, and I'd rather see him burn brightly throughout the rest of the series before proclaiming him the messiah.

I'd like him to get a couple of 5'fers first (and not get overbowled)!

There’s one for you 👍🏻

Or leave Harris out and open with Khawaja?

Khawaja goes first imo, he's the softest cricketer I've seen in a long time, and easily one of the worst fielder's going around.

Hopefully the bowlers turn it on tomorrow and we have a game on our hands.

How this guy marnus unprenounceablelastname has not been a shoe in before I don't know.played superb and to be fair so did the Aussies to get to 100-2 in very hard conditions.

Conditions very much in our favour today lets be honest, superb bowling from Broad and Archer.

Broad seems to be defying the predictions of 'not much left' and Jimmy looks like he is fit, who to leave out? But let's enjoy the game so far it's been good entertainment worry about the team later  :)

Australia have got to have marnus in rest of the games and not sure who they leave out. I've never thought khawaja is top class myself but stats over the last year prove otherwise-as someone told me today.

Khawaja is another option, especially if he does not get any runs in the 2nd innings.

Thought Marnus should've been in from the start due to scoring over a thousand runs in the CC this year

Shown he could play the moving ball and in good form

Hasn’t Bancroft scored barrel loads in the CC too?

I just dont understand the logic behind not picking Mitchell Starc?? He was your best bowler in the world cup and he has got that X factor!

Not particularly, 726 at 45 so an improvement on his previous county form (he was rubbish at Glos bar one knock), but he's a fair way off the best in the division.

Again, Jason Roy should be nowhere near this team
