The quicker they get rid of botham the better - his comments about the concussion test are unwarranted.

How many more chances does Bairstow get? This is weak

Another misfield from him. How Foakes got dropped is still beyond me

Sneak Peak at Johnny Bairstows player edition WK glove.

In all seriousness, they need to bring foakes in.
As a cricket fan, I'm genuinely gutted for Broad, he deserves alot better and has been undeservedly lost in Archers shadow over the last two tests.

Just imagine the state of this game if we’d been able to cobble together 160 🙄

If your going to be bang average behind the stumps you need to be averaging close to 50 to warrant a place

Otherwise a specialist keeper should play

Foakes being dropped after the SL or WI series, can’t remember which, was one of the worst decisions I can remember

You’ve been superb and scored valuable runs and erm...we are leaving you out

Anyone else think of a worse recent fielding display?

I don't think ODI all-rounders fare well in a Test side, Stokes is an exception.

Test teams should be about specialists, players who are absolutes champs of whatever they do.

Regarding Tim Paine, he is not scoring much runs but he is a good wicket keeper and makes good decisions. He is a good captain, certainly proving better than Root.

Separate format teams is the way to go with different captains. AUS gets it right - someone like Chris Lynn will never be in a Test team.

This is predictably weak.

This is a big innings for Root. Not because his place is in jeopardy, but because he is the leader of this group and needs to stand up and show them how it’s done.

Lynn was a really good red ball batsman before his career was destroyed by injuries and he took the T20 route.

Averages mid 40s playing on a spicy track at the Gabba

How can you tell we’ve done alright for a few sessions?? It’s quiet on here.

Stokes 2 of 50 balls!! Definitely not a test innings that......
