Vintage Stuart Surridge?

First time posting here so hope this is the right place for it, just recently picked up a Stuart Surridge Ian Redpath Autograph in pretty good condition considering how old it is (I assume the early 70's). Just wondering if anyone has seen any bats like this before or knows anything about it/recommendations as to whether to refurb it or keep it in its original condition. (I've tried attaching some photos but get a "cannot access attachments upload path" error, any advice on how to upload images much appreciated)

Welcome to the forum. Personally whatever refurbishment you do you must retain the old stickers/graphics.
Search on here how to add photos (it’s easy, though time consuming) when you know how.
Basically set up a postimage.org account, upload the images there, then copy and paste the links into a message onto here then post the image..

Thanks! Hopefully got the photos sorted, unfortunately the rear sticker is fairly damaged, any ideas where/if it could be possible to source remakes of the sticker? As for the printing on the front, I considered engraving it?

Hi mate, welcome to the forum. Nice bat, looks like it has made a few runs in the past! I guess my question to you is why you want to refurbish it, I mean do you want to use it in a game, or just to have on display? A friend of mine is planning to refurbish a similar bat, a little older than yours (about 1950's), in order to see if it still performs. He's going to replace the handle first, he says that the springs and canes have degraded and broken, so wouldn't now stand up to the punishment. Other than that it seems to have some ping, so he's going to see what happens.  If you just want to refurb yours for display, you'll probably want to keep the stickers intact, and also the handle binding which you probably won't be able to replace like-for-like. Interesting project, either way. Best of luck.

Yeah mate, and I think it might have a few runs left in it if I can find them! Seriously though, your question is a good one and one that I've been back and forthing over since I found the bat, is it better off just being displayed as an historical item or should I put it to its intended use? I think I'm leaning towards trying to refurb it to use it, thinking that the object was made to be used not displayed and its best fulfillment would be to make a few more runs. Once I get around to it I will put some photos up of the bat post-refurb, just got to find some time to give it the tlc it deserves.
