That may be the case but its like anything in life people will try and copy anything and everything and I've never seen people with full sheets of hologram stickers so id imagine that to be few and far between. Most of the manufactures protect genuine stickers pretty well so hologram wont be a problem and could be changed every season.

My Thruxton SPS doesn't have a stamp on the shoulder. I don't doubt it's authenticity though having bought it from Talisman

The price of RFID technology is coming down all the time.  Could this not be incorporated into bats in some way to guarantee authenticity?

But if you see someone on the pitch who's bat is a dog but looks like a genuine Kookaburra (or whatever brand) it affects the brand name. Players don't know bats very well so won't spot small holograms or slight changes in the stickers.

If its made public knowledge then everyone will be aware of whats genuine and what isn't.

I would think you're overestimating the knowledge of the average punter, besides don't people buy stickers so they look like their favourite bat?

Don't think it matters why they buy the stickers as long as they cant be used to make cheap fakes ? I'm not saying my idea is the right one although id think it could be pretty successful, the people making cheap copies of stickers will improve and I'm sure the manufacturers will need to do something to stay ahead of them.

This is the main concern from my point of view....Just on the forum I have seen some very average bats re-labelled with other brands logos and you cant be at every game to explain that its not an "original". Say the worst case scenario occurred and a bat split/feel apart with your brand of stickers on an un-original bat....people will just remember the branded stickers not whats actually underneath!

Im sure there is a method of distinguishing the stickers apart from fakes in order to stop this as its clearly a subject that will effect the company making the originals....as a small brand (looking to establish itself;) ) it could cause your name to be tarnished should something go wrong with a poor bat.
