Worst case scenario: if the BOA snaps for some reason, is it possible to insert a standard shoe lace/string?
They're guaranteed for life and pretty easy to replace.

Never had one snap or go faulty despite plenty of abuse.  Must say that compared with the ones years ago when i was a kid they are loads better now.

Surprised they haven’t gone down the laceless route like the Adidas footy boots.

I'm not. You don't kick a cricket ball. Surely, creating a clean striking point is the advantage of wearing this type of football boot?

U don’t kick anything when your walking down the street either but they make laceless trainers.
It’s more of a fashionable, or even comfort,  thing so I’m surprised Adidas especially haven’t bought it into the cricket market.

Adidas seem to have blue black orange and gray on rotation for their ranges.
I am not complaining, their shoes are great.
But it doesn't strike me their are that bothered with huge innovations in the cricket space.

They've basically had the same shoe for the past 5 years now just in different colourways, I've had 2 pairs of sl22 fs now the first ue/orange pair the year boots were released and now last years light blue offering and these absolutely no difference great shoes but no changes

On a side note the new notts kits they've produced are stunning!!

Soleplate development for each model isnt a cheap process, given the numbers involved in the cricket market vs their other markets its prob not a great business model to present to change them too often....they made more from Table Tennis than the cricket market when we were one of their partners in the sport!

Pure speculation but they made a load of quite innovative soft goods when they originally launched late 00s, and it never seemed very popular. I loved the pads, but you didn't see many around. The more traditional stuff seems to sell a lot more, standard cricket market problems.

Not really bothered by the shoes, anyone got any shots of the softs?

Fair enough! Like I say love the shoes and only use Adidas spikes just havent seen much development compared to other areas of the game new balance the same I would imagine.

On the flip side of this, how much "development" can you realistically expect from a pair of shoes?

Sure you can make them lighter and more breathable than before (look at shoes now compared to yesteryear and you'll see clear advancements) but there's only so much you can do.

There's no point trying to re-invent the wheel each year, if it ain't broke don't fix it. If something does come along that would add value by all means do it, but it's not like there's anything wrong with the existing product as it is.

Also, as it't the same product with just the colours changed, you can get some right bargains by going for an "old" pair of shoes that's on sale!  :D
