B3 or Blank Bats?
« on: November 12, 2019, 11:08:08 AM »

It's that time of the year when I wish to (again) break my promise not to buy another bat  ;)

1. Want something that's (really) has a forgiving middle.
2. Looking at buying the best I can afford - Grade 1, maybe. I honestly do NOT want to buy another one after this for the next couple of years  :D

Currennt offer on B3 Imperium looks really interesting, but honestly torn between B3 or Blank bats.

Don't care about how long they last, but which ones will perform the best.

Thoughts?

If you're really picky about dimensions, exact weight and shape and want a completely custom experience, go for B3. If you're not that bothered about the above and just want an absolute cannon made by one of the best batmakers in the world, go for Blank Bats

what a decision, the 2 best makers going and the bats i have  been using forever. I switched to b3 as like the post above i feel they are the only maker who can guarantee the specs you desire,  i mean who else gives you a CAD of your bat before making it ? both ping like fook..... the decision is yours :)

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Haven't used B3 but I can vouch for Blank Bats having used one for 2 seasons. Although not the same in terms of being able to specify exact specs, Tai is a sound bloke who knows his bats and will ensure your needs are catered for.

I've heard great things about B3 too, but for me specs aren't as important as performance. My 2lbs 9oz BB is probably 32 - 34mm edge and less than 60mm spine (haven't measured it) but full and pings really well. Great value as well for a Grade 1. I use it for nets too but its still in great shape after 2 seasons games and 2 decent nets per wk.

HI hope you don't mind me jumping in, if you'd like to visit us we can arrange for you to test some shapes and feel a B3 bat in your hands. I know for some this can be quite a trip but a great way to make sure youre happy with what youre buying. we can also give you a tour around the factory and show you how we make our bats

Since you are not going to buy another one for two years (yeah right!), get both.
Easy decision.

Thanks! Tbh I am not very picky about dimensions. That's why mentioned looking at something that absolutely performs.

Doubt you'll go wrong with either, so it comes down to budget and choice I suppose.

I did see this review when you put it up in your thread. Boy - your bat does ping all over. Never ever owned one that's so good.

Absolutely wouldn't mind.

Well - I am pretty impressed with the current offer on Imperium. Had almost made up my mind on BB and then saw a couple of reviews on this and the offer!

Would have loved to visit, but then (perhaps I didn't mention earlier) I'm based in India & so shipping is to India. And I checked on your website, you have free shipping offer at the moment on imperium?

At present the pricing to each county advertised (UK / AUS / NZ / USA) comes with free shipping.

to Ship to India is usually £45 but I will reduce this to £30 so for an Imperium deal to India for a first time customer would be £330. I'd personally pick out a few clefts too for you to choose from.

I'll weigh in on this one, like Canners, I have used many many keeley made bats, and I am currently using 2 B3 root shaped bats. If I am being brutally honest, the B3 bats, in my opinion, are fractionally more forgiving and you are also more likely to get a monstrous bat. I've had 3 b3s and they are all enormous, and put my keeleys to shame tbh, and the keeleys are no slouches either. I feel like you wouldn't go wrong with either as both will give you a great performing bat. However, if I could only buy one, it would probably be a B3 low density
