As a junior we always chuckled at same guy who insisted he always got his bat stuck behind his pad on his down swing shall we say.

Turns out it's not very funny when it happens to yourself, 1st ball of the innings in a National Cup match and ya get cleaned bowled.

I have heard many good excuses but we were playing a game 2 months ago. Batsman went in to bat and hit quick 25 runs on 10 balls. He got a clean bowled. Next thing we knew he was running out of ground. We asked him why is he running, he said as he went in to bat, his stomach started to growl and he had diarrhea. He kept running to his car and drove out of the ground and came back after an hour. Everyone kept their distance from him that day.

My contact lens fell out when I was younger and carried on without it, thought I’d be ok..... I wasn’t but thought I had a good excuse

When we played on the day of the world cup final over I was batting at 3 and we lost a wicket in the first over, I went in with full intention of playing long but you start hearing the ohh's and Ahh's, your mates who's game got called off (like ours should have been) standing back to our game, with pint in hand screaming at the TV's, I thought F**k this and started slogging, eventually got caught on the boundary and sprinted off, watched the rest of the game in my pads! that was my excuse anyway, I wanted to watch the WC Final.

When I was a lot younger (mid 20s) I got bowled out by a woman (Early 20s). She had a very bouncy chest, which was rather off putting. She also swung the ball a mile.
