At his age, it seems a bit premature to suggest he'll never manage to balance the skillsets needed to play all 3 formats. He needs to improve his control and focus on playing longer innings but no reason he can't be successful across formats.

Show me a few fast bowlers who has managed to �balance all three formats� (a consistently good one I mean! .. not a flash in the pan one)

Cummins, Bumrah, Rabada? And that's just in recent years.

Also I don't see Curran's future as a front line pace bowler, he's got the makings of a quality bat and a good 4th seamer.

�Quality� bat ?!? Why? Because the media say so? He�s literally shown nothing to suggest he�s anything but a good striker

They all have pace... and movement .... Curran has ?!? No pace and only swing

I think a few of his innings have shown he has the potential to be quite a bit better than "a good striker". Coaching staff at Surrey seem to rate his potential as a batsman too and given their record for producing players I would assume they know a thing or two.

And yes, Curran mostly relies on swing but Jimmy Anderson didn't add more strings to his bow till he was significantly older than Curran is now. He turned out pretty handy.

Anderson has skilz and was always able to move the ball at high pace

Curran hasn't even got a FC century yet because he biffed a few against India he was proclaimed 'the new Stokes'. Curran needs to work on the bowling as the batting is a mere bonus

Anderson as a young bowler had an action they could move the ball away from the right hander at pace but he was in his mid-20s before he could bowl and inswinger and he was entirely reliant on the ball swinging to take wickets.

I don�t get the criticism Curran receives from some.

He has a bowling average of 31 and a batting average of 30 and has taken important wickets and scored important runs. England look a better side with him in it!
