And a strong lad, otherwise no point 😃😃

A full profile bat is pointless unless you're strong? What are you basing that (nonsense) opinion on?

Our clubs Keeley sponsored player has broken three bats.

Don't know the circumstances but he looks after his kit and faces decent balls. They were replaced without question but anyone else had Keeleys break sooner than expected?

What weight do you use? Full profile? Jim.
I guessed this particular bat weights 2lb 11oz. If it turns out to be 2lb 8oz then it's another story 👍

I use full profile, 2-10ish bats. I am neither a particularly large or strong batsman.

So you've taken a wild guess at bat weight, assumed that only a large/strong batsman could use such a weight and based your assessment on that? Surely you realise how absurd that sounds.

Come on Jimbo surely you can see from that photo it's obviously a 2.11 bat!  ;)

I've not really had many issues with Keeleys breaking - what were the breakages like? Handle or toes?

It's daft to assume where a batsman would bat based on the bat make and weight.

The only guarantee is that all tailenders use Gray Nicolls that weigh 2lb9oz. They even have a bat model called the Tailender.

You read it wrong, point is that batsmen pick their weights according to the kind of bowling they face, majority of the time.
You'll have an opener using 2lb 13oz, but that's not common.
On the other side, not all tailenders use 2lb 9oz!
Simply not true 🙂

I would suggest you missed @Chad sarcasm in his previous post.

Assuming the weight of someone’s bat purely on there size/batting number is completely outrageous. I’ve seen guys built like a racing snake use 3lb bats, as well as guys that are strong fellas using 2lb7. It’s all about what you are comfortable with. Not what AJ on the forum assumes what you use.

There is the 'ignore user' functionality which I find works as the best way to filter out most of the ridiculous comments.

So finally got this special Keeley in my possession... very lightly used, the odd mark/dent, did have some binding on toe that was removed by the last owner.

Bat weighs 2.12 and fills the gauge. Now need to decide whether I try and use it in its current state or send to Keeley... the bat could do with a decent clean up...

So…

I’ll do my best to get the thread back on track with a few more photos…

So decided to send my pro bat Keeley off to get a couple of ounces taken out of it. Less than a weeks turnaround and £40 I’ll let the photos do the talking…

Used for the first time last night and hit a monster slog sweep 6 (for me)

What a beaut @e4sby what did you get it taken down to weight wise? Still looks a very good size.

I really wish my phone had an 'Ignore Forum' button. (And, yes, I'm guessing quite a lot of you wish it did too).

It's like a car crash:  really terrible, but you can't help looking.
