That's interesting. I hadn't seen this before.

There was another product discussed here which had more pronounced ridges on the surface of the grip. Another thing I remember about it was how expensive it was.

I think they were the 2mm bat grips which were endorsed by Daniel Vettori.

Does anyone know if they're still available?

I'm still curious to try one if I can get hold of one.
At the time they were first discussed there were a couple of things put me off ordering.

1) they cost a fortune for a grip
2) they weren't available in the UK, only from New Zealand (so add postage to the already high cost)
3) worst of all, they didn't come in white!

^ Well, in other sports, people do equipment trials by trying something and then shipping it to the next person to try it out. This way, the whole groups gets to experience/use an equipment and share their thoughts - excellent set of pros/cons. This may not work across the pond (cost prohibitive shipping) but could be tried in the UK (or N. America exclusively).

Something for CBF-ers to consider.

I know Daniel Hughes (sydney sixers + NSW) uses one. His salute when he made a hundred, was to hold the bat up by the blade, showing the squirrel grip. He had quite a lot of success with it early in the season, and did many of these celebrations during NSW 1 day and 4 day matches. Apparently Alex Blackwell used one, but I can't think of any others.

I've also noticed Kane Williamson spinning the bat in his gloves while in his batting stance, and having eyes on the bowler. I thought it odd, but the bat always seemed to settle in the perfect position without him looking at it.

You can use tennis over grip to shape the handle. Its cheap and you can experiment on the shape till you find perfect fit.

$50 hmm pass.

Strips of tape under the grip or a strip of yoga mat foam trimmed and sanded will do the same job.

on GN Australia made bats.

As i said in the non flexible video zinc oxide tape is fine. their tape is even thinner.

I know that this thread has gone off on a bit of a tangent, but here�s photos of the binding over the top of the built-up handle. It�s held in place well, no slipping or anything like that.
