B3 Factory Visit
« on: February 25, 2020, 08:50:48 PM »

Visited B3 today for the second time. Drove up from Worcester with my mate who was after a new stick. He'd tried my B3 last season and was very impressed, so wanted one himself. Very friendly and helpful as we looked through the vast range of bats. After much deliberation he went for the updated version of the Louis Reece shape with a low middle. It still had a fantastic pick up.

I somehow managed to resist buying a new bat. I took my old knackered GN f18 and they showed me a similar bespoke shape or said they could copy it. They've said they will email me a copy of the shape, so will decide then. I was also tempted by the Root shape with the shorter blade. It's a beast of a bat! I did buy some new gloves though as I couldn't come away without purchasing anything.

The interesting think was that just as we arrived so too did Paul from It's Just Cricket. They were in the nets for most of the time we were there, so unfortunately we weren't able to try out any bats as we'd hoped. I did ask if IJC would be stocking B3 bats, but they said they were just visiting to look at their set up!  ;)

B3 do a F18 copy known as a Tonto - I have a 30 grain one here that’s being sent off to get delamination fixed

When Sir Ben Stokes retires I’m definitely going to part with some money on a B3. Every one I see looks almost as good as a GM.

Sadly I didn't think about taking any pictures while we were there. Big error as a cbf member! I'll post pics of my mates new bat when he gets it.

I'll look into the Tonto shape. Would love to get one as close to the f18 as possible.
