Taken a dig out of the bat

Was doing some concaving with the Snell & Atherton no 5 thingy and it got stuck and I ended up taking a larger shaving than I wanted, now its got a big tear in the bacK!!
Shall I just sand it out?! :(

prob the best plan just smooth into into the rest of the bat and blend it in! but then im not bat expert

Did you tear the willow because of the direction of the grain on the willow or did it dig in?

if you are going with the grain then you either need to slow down or angle it slightly

Unless you got to the point were the grain changes and it dig in because of that, then talisman is right
