I don't think coming up with the protocols was the issue, As you said it only took you 10 minutes - it's not a significant intellectual task. I would argue that getting the virus under control so that they could get the previously mentioned protocols signed off from the Government is what has taken the last 3 months

anyway, cricket is back!! isn't this exciting!!

But any time anyone, including our county board rep, asked to see what the protocols would be, we were told the ECB hadn't developed them yet and needed more thinking time.

The phrase thick as pig (No Swearing Please) springs to mind.

"In the event of rain, spectators must return to their own vehicle or hide under their own tree."

I bet the all knowing all seeing SLA didn't anticipate having to bring your own tree just in case :D

On the contrary, I planted a tree several years ago anticipating this exact requirement.

Does this mean I can't run down the middle of the track or shoulder barge the bowler  ;) :D

"Batsmen must run down a clearly marked path at the wicket and “sanitise their bats” once dismissed"

I wonder how many are going to wipe down there bats putting a load of moisture into the wood!

Think I’ll just wait until next summer. Hopefully there’s a medical breakthrough and I’m not really interested in disinfecting my kit.

It's really weird right now, normally I'm scrabbling around for players for the midweek team, but I've actually got 19 keen to play next week!

Same here. We've got 15 available for both games next week, and are thinking of adding extra fixtures.

All these people predicting noone in their club will wanna play... I think the club is the problem not the sport...

Similar for our club, we have 35 available for a intra club game this weekend

Players keen to get a game - memberships have been reduced at our club to half

We've got five teams out across the weekend with only a couple of players getting two games. I've never seen anything like it! Some teams on Saturday have 12 men as well.

Apparently some clubs who use a council pitch wont be able to play as councils didnt really do any pitch preparation. Such a shame really! Wish councils were more pro-active.

To be fair, a lot of council groundworkers were furloughed and are now playing catchup. Suppose that's the downside of using council run facilities.
