Lovely bat indeed and interesting to hear the buying decision process.

Wonder how many of these and bats of their ilk might fall price-wise into closer reach this season?

This is a shape I would be very keen on.

I must have had one of these in a basket about 10 time’s but always ended up not going through with it because of the price. Then when I say the discount code I was really tempted but held off for a bit and then when we were informed our holiday was cancelled it meant I had the free resources as had been saving for a year as always for our big family holiday as it needs to be in school holidays as that’s when I have my eldest daughter. Fact is there is every chance that if flight rules are relaxed kids won’t be at school anyway or flights are not going to relaxed and will hold to hold on until next next year. Either way I ran out of excuses to myself not to buy it.
Wife job situation happened about 4 days after I bought it. But hey ho won’t be the end of the world.
Worst case I’ll be homeless but still have this bat lol.

Not sure many of these will individually as not sure many places stock many players edition bats but certainly when places offer discount codes in all stock online it will bring price down.
Talent cricket have the 20% off until tomorrow I think.

But yea if this lockdown goes on much longer I imagine as season technically gets shorter lots of stores may be sitting on stock they had delivered early in the year and need to clear out so maybe some decent deals as we go through the season

Hot dingly dang, that's a lovely (and massive-looking) bit O' wood.
Beau grainage as the French would say.
I've a suspicion it'll go as well as it looks, too.
Sorry to hear about your wife's job.
Hope she finds something she'll enjoy when we're all allowed out.

Thank you. She works in the care industry in dementia care so I’m sure she will be fine.

That's a beauty. How's the ping , any different from the GM signatures/808 ? is it softer pressed ?

The toes on both look fairly thin, or is that just relative to the big spine?

I don't mind personally that the player bats are nothing like the profile of the lower grade bats, because we all know about these things, but I reckon the average buyer thinks their Diamond 808 is roughly the same bat as Ben Stokes uses, and that's clearly not the case

I guess it’s just marketing, no difference to to the diamond as nothing like what stokes uses either but stickers promote the brand. Shape wise @SouthpawMark can confirm but not sure much in it between this and the stokes profile. Think GM website states 1mm difference in swell height. Out of curiosity is that middle position of spine height??

That’s an absolute beauty. Shame it’s right handed, or I might have offered you £200 for it.  :D

It looks remarkably similar to my bats. In fact, I don’t think there’s too much difference between Stokes, Vince, Malan or Pope PE bats to be honest.

All we need now is the chance to play actual cricket. I am SO bored of whacking balls from the bowling machine.

Yes like chalk and cheese. This PE edition is very different in terms of its pressing much softer from the off.

Pope is the first (?) short blade players edition, but yes most are the same shape with subtle handle shape differences and stickers

Edit: oh and yes the toes are thin but I wouldn’t say that particularly affects durability. GM in general do tend to have thinner toes

The Pope PE is the only L540 listed on the GM website all others are L555 I think 🤔

Lovey looking bat Chris. Looks the same shape as Stokes and a few others use.

Vince used to have a different shape to that, well he did two+ years ago, it was low middle with a bow. What the Zelos was then designed from

Probably my favourite GM shape, I was lucky to get one off @brokenbat and it is a wonderful bat.

For those that mentioned about thin toe and shoulders they are thinner than all my other GM bats

Vince PE - toe 16mm on edge of toe and 18mm middle of toe
Neon LE - toe 22mm on edge of toe and 26mm middle of toe
Siren Sig- toe 23mm on edge of toe and 26mm middle of toe

Shoulders of the bats

Vince PE - 17mm shoulder
Neon LE - 20mm shoulder
Siren Sig- 21mm shoulder

I guess that as they are exact replicas of players bats they are not to bothered if they break as they get new ones or free repairs so just have all the wood in the hitting area. Plus they middle the ball far more often then even the beat club players
