New Balance CK10 2020 vs 2019 review and comparison
« on: May 24, 2020, 06:11:32 PM »

I picked up a pair of 2020 CK10s from Talent Cricket's daily offers recently (couldn't resist for £62), assuming they'd be exactly the same as the 2019 model but in a different colourway. Turns out that isn't the case and New Balance have made some interesting changes for this years version. Figured I had time to make a little video review and comparison between the two!

Have NB shoes always come up tiny in size? I ordered a 10.5 and couldn’t even get them on.

I picked up the white/red ones for about £45 before I knew we wouldn't see much cricket this year. They'll seem ancient by the time I eventually wear them! 😁

I found I had to go a size bigger in New Balance than any other make. This wasn't just cricket shoes either!

Great review mate, I'd agree with your comments having worn both.

I did get some rubbing on the heel thanks to the stiffer heel cup but fingers crossed it goes away as they wear in.

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it!

Size wise, I should have said in the video but completely forgot - I'm a UK 9 and I've got UK 9 in both models. The 2019 shoe is a more snug fit - when I first got them I needed to put some stretchers in for a couple of days. Since then, though, I've liked the fit. The sizing on the 2020 shoe is bigger; visually the shoe is a bit larger when looking at them together and I haven't needed to stretch them. I don't know if that's accurate for all of them, or if it's just that I happened to get a 'small' 9 in the 2019s and a 'big' 9 in the 2020.

I did get some rubbing on the heel thanks to the stiffer heel cup but fingers crossed it goes away as they wear in.

Good to know, I wondered if that might be an issue

Great review mate, enjoyed it, you do have a knack for reviews, you should do it more regularly :)

One question on the weight of the shoe -  did you find the 2020 model lighter/heavier than the 2019 model?

Thanks so much for your comments guys, really pleased you enjoyed it! I'll definitely look to do a few more.. I've got an idea for the next one, it's a bit left field so we'll see :)

good review! was gonna get these when i seen £62 but they are back up to £78

Talent have got a 20% discount code (SAVINGS20) active until the end of the month, which works on everything including the daily offers.

One question on the weight of the shoe -  did you find the 2020 model lighter/heavier than the 2019 model?

I didn't notice a difference when wearing them. I've popped one of each on the scales (with no spikes inserted):
2019: 342g
2020: 353g

So the 2019 shoe is slightly lighter, but perhaps less so than you might expect from looking at them.
