Masuri VS sizes. (online purchase)
« on: June 04, 2020, 10:16:03 AM »

Hi guys,

Being in Scotland, the ability to try stuff on is limited, but I need a new lid. I've decided that I'd like a Masuri Vision Series, as I like the design, safety and adjuster they offer. My old helmet was a GN Atomic, which was comfy and easily tweakable via the dial at the back. (I have thick hair, so sometimes I need to loosen it if I need a haircut.

Anyways, I'm a 58cm scull, this puts me in between sizes. Do I need a small, or a standard???

Cheers.

I'd always go up a size with helmets, did that with the Kookaburra I have now and I can get it comfortably tight enough. Down a size I think it would either be uncomfortable or just wouldn't fit.

For a 58 cm head, go regular size.
Do buy better pro foam and a swappa band too. They really help.
It is my bugbear with the masuri lids that the supplied foam is horrible but they have decent foam available.

Go for standard mens size Medium. I have a 56cm head and it still fits me quite well. If i try small mens size it is too tight

I found the vision series to be significantly smaller than either the OS2 or old Masuris, guessing it's at least partly down to head shape but I can't get them on at all.

Where do you get these mate? the standard issue foams in mine are starting to come loose so need new ones and wouldn't mind upgrading

I was a standard mens in old masuri models, standard mens in vision series, and large mens in Os2

Head shape seems likely culprit then - I was large with room to spare on the old ones, just squeeze in to large in OS2 and a large Vision Series is painful to try on. Shame as I quite liked the adjuster.

Looking further into it, it looks like I'm stuck with the vision series, as I can't for the life of me find adjustment foams for os2 anywhere. 😢
