Good work mate. Shoulders definitely there now! 👍

Thanks Jonny, that’s one thing if found personally is that there are a handful of small bat makers that are happy to help with tips or advice as iv started my bat making journey, you being one that until you know are hard to figure out but make some of the tricker jobs that little bit easier

Great shape! Looks a bit Laver-ish. Would it interested in how it pings/plays.

Thanks for feedback it’s based a little on a LW profile.

Ping is very good as are all the clefts I’m lucky enough to get hold, shape certainly feels well balanced to me

A couple more that I’m in the process of making up for People.

One is a SL06 and he other the shorter blade AM18 with a slight twist of a slightly higher middle.

New work benches are almost finished as they have taken a bit longer to make than planned with the recent snow and general normal workload. Just waiting on a couple of new toys to arrive as well to finish the workshop set up.

Will share when they are finished as well as workshop being finished.

Wonderful work on those shoulders in the earlier post Chris, that is quite impressive blending. Really loving all these pics being shared, batmaking is a real skill - great to see you handling your clefts!

As a side note, that shaping at the toe on the last picture reminds me a lot of the GM Apex

Cheers @Chad for the feedback and the acknowledgement of the work that Iv out into blending the shoulders. Still the most time consuming part for me.
As for the toe it’s something that seems to have just become part of what I do when shaping a bat. I call it’s a peacock effect as the showing seems to blend downwards like a peacock in bloom. May not make any sense to anyone else but something that it’s a characteristic of how my shaping is evolved over the last 12 months really.
Try and do as much as my ability allows and fitting handles is so important to how a bat plays and feels so nice to be able to control that element.

Good work @SOULMAN1012. Interesting shape and good to see how your skills are developing. Be interesting to see how the workshop develops too. Keep at it mate!

So Iv been concentrating on my workshop over the last week and have finally finished my new work bench which makes such a difference to have a place to work away from the main work bench where I shape the bats.
Also have taken delivery of a new lathe to assist with binding and also a new polishing machine.

It’s a very busy month ahead with a number of orders from previous club players, Instagram and one on its way to a forum member in the coming weeks, and also a bunch of refurbs including 4 from some Durham CCC players one of which is a great demonstration of middling the hell out of a bat. Vaguely similar to a post I remember seeing with one of I think it was Steve smiths bats.

Finally received a new batch of willow and been busy handling these in between some refurbs.

Refurb and a copy just a few oz lighter than the Keeley. Rough shaping finished. Refining and then sanding.

Cheers mate it’s getting there slowly but surely. Just need to finish the partition wall and build another bench on that side as well as a storage area for the clefts. Hope all is well your end mate.

Love that shape.

@Byo thank you for the comment. It’s the refined stock shape I offer in the traditional L555 length blade and SH set up. Proving quite popular
