Truly custom made Jnr bat finished this evening. Young as moving up from size 4 and had a growth spurt so we have a size 6 blade length with a size 5 handle so when he has his next growth spurt we can switch the handle as every chance he will outgrow it before he out uses it. Finished at 2lb exactly

Cannot get my head around hiding the lovely willow under those fibre scuffs, but some lovely looking sticks there Chris. Just as well my bats for next year are sorted or that G4 pricing would be mighty tempting!

The cost might be a factor - I bought a roll of Fibre scuff for 30ish pounds but the clear one was 3 times as much! Might be different with volume purchasing by a batmaker but I was surprised the difference was so big.

Bit of a mix of preferences certainly seem to have moved to the fibre scuff sheets I guess they see the pros use it and also weight saving on the kids and light weight bats. Some also ask my opinion and I feel the fibre is better from a Protection element which is really what you use it for. Thanks for the comments on the bats @Jimbo

Nope that’s about right £90-100 for clear helicopter scuff £30 odd for the fibre and I’m
Not big enough to buy in any kind of bulk that would generate a discount that’s for sure

So for this year iv decided to get some G4 clefts to be able to offer a hand crafted bat at the sub £200 mark.

I was able to offer this in my G3 offerings until last year and generally found it disappointing I could no longer offer that. However now managed to secure some G4 clefts which include Butterly as that’s the grade I class Butterly at.

Anyway here are a couple iv made over the last weeks . For a couple of local players as net bats. One is Suffolk academy player, nets 3 times a week against side arm and bola machine so great option to save his more expensive G1.  Other is for lad at a local club that plays occasional Sunday cricket and bought in  SD slaz Kashmir for a refurb and walked away ordering a new stick.

Both are 2lb 10oz in the SL06 profile, Red is a skinny handle at customer request and gold is a standard semi oval handle

Said it before but your new stickers really are a lovely improvement on the previous iteration.

Lovely shapes! And I like the look of the grains and two-tone willow of the red stickered one.

Great that you can offer a sub 200 handcrafted bat.

Morning all. Just thought I’d share a few of the bats I made up in April for customers before the elbow injury which has largely kept me out of the workshop the last 2 weeks.

As always please share your feedback and if you like the shapes you see please get in touch, over 60 clefts in stock across all grades.

These were all under 2.10 finished weights
