Thin shoulder bat vs thick shoulders
« on: August 30, 2020, 08:20:31 AM »

Hello all,
I have recently started using a bat that has very thin shoulders, oval handles. I was batting the other day and felt a bit of vibrations going through the handles and hurting my elbow.
So, just wanted to ask does thin shoulders mean more vibration through the handles and vice-versa? What has your all experience been like.
Also, will adding another grip help with less vibration? Thanks.

The vibration you feel is the energy leaving the bat. This energy will travel both up and down the grains and into the handle, it is for this reason that the rubber/cork inserts in the handle are there....to dampen the vibrations tranference into the hand. I wouldnt thik it is due to the shoulders as much as the grain pattern through the bat and handle.
