Given the hit and giggle stuff from the UAE is the only cricket we will see over the next few weeks, I thought I would start a thread.

(Rant alert) I hate how they rebranded a simple six to the �yes bank maximum�. And now commentators (esp Nasser Hussain) love to say �maximum� instead of �six� in other games / series. Don�t know why, but I absolutely hate it.

Delhi Capitals vs Kings Punjab last night provided a lot of giggle (with dollops of hit and lashings of drama on the side)

- Poor Chris Jordan went for 30 runs in the final over vs. Stoinis (remember the guy who couldn't make contact with him a few weeks ago when Australia just fell short v. England after cruising). Went for 56 in total without a wicket from 4 overs.
- Chasing, Kings are tied with 2 balls remaining. 1 run from 2 balls to win. Instead that man Stoinis takes 2 wickets (from full tosses for added drama). Guess who the last man facing was trying to get 1 run to win ... yep Chris Jordan looking for redemption.
- In the Super over, Kings go 2WW setting the amazing target of 2 off a super over and predictably lose. (The biggest damp squib super over ever only made worse by the comedy chase that took 3 balls to get the 3 needed for victory!)
- Kings are now appealing a short run called against them during the match. Guess who the poor guy was called for the short run? Yep ... Chris Jordan.

It was match where some could do no right (Chris Jordan) - and some could do no wrong (Stoinis 53/21 and 2 wickets for 29 runs ... wickets taken bowling full tosses!) - and the result pretty much was summed up between these 2 players showdowns in the final overs of each innings.

Kings XI missed out on winning the game in the allocated 20 overs due to an incorrect umpiring call on a short run to add to all that as well.

How do they manage to drag the games out for so long?
Even with the time out break the over rate was 11 overs per hour yesterday in what is supposed to be the faster most exciting format. The score was 53-3 so it was hardly caused by boundaries.
Worse than a test match.

I kinda don't feel sorry for KXIP given that they lost 4 wickets in 5 balls (final 2 balls of innings and 2 in 1st 3 balls of super over) ... 4 wickets for 2 runs. Crying over the umpire's call for 1 run given the rest of *their* c0ck-ups in that match is just deflection of some poor performances with bat and ball.

Being an SRH fan, it was really sad to see us lose that game after being in such a strong position. If only Jonny had played out Chahal's last over, he would have done some serious damage against Dubey. Also, Mitch's injury didnt help. What has frustrated me over the last few years is the treatment Nabi gets in the squad. In previous years, we had Shakib so it made sense leaving Nabi out. But now with Shakib not available, surely Nabi should be a shoo in in the XI. He is the top T20 all rounder in the world. Hope Sunrisers come to their senses and give Nabi a continued run which he deserves.

Also, it was great t osee Devdutt Paddikal perform yesterday. He has been identified as a star of the future and he did his reputation no harm with that innings. Lovely fluent hits similar to Yuvi. Hope he goes well for RCB and India's sake.

Shame about Yashaswi Jaiswal...another wonderful batting talent in this IPL. Could have done the sensible thing of taking a single after the boundary but went for the glory. Read his story during the U-19 world cup. Truly inspiring, his love for the game. Hope he does well in this tournament.
